Low poly horror game Tumblebee is scheduled to launch on September 17, 2026. Developed by Agelvik, known for the underwater hellshooter Death in Abyss, the title combines low poly visuals with horror gameplay elements.

Despite a cheerful title that might suggest a jolly platformer or an apicultural take on Peggle, the game features a tense premise. Players must rescue their bee friends who have been abducted by spiders and cocooned inside an earthen labyrinth. The rescue must be completed before the spiders wake up and consume the player.

Because the bee character cannot fly fast enough to escape the threats, players utilize a tumbling mechanic. This allows the character to roll, hop, and bounce off mushrooms to gain distance from the pursuing spiders. The Steam page for the game does not clarify if players can get trapped in webs, but the danger remains high as players navigate the underground spaces.

The experience is accompanied by a clangorous electronic score. Agelvik brings the project to Steam following previous development work on Death in Abyss.
