Solarpunk MMO Loftia launches into early access November 3

Qloud Games has set November 3, 2026 as the early access launch date for Loftia, a solarpunk MMO life sim that prioritizes optimism and community over combat and competition.

Loftia invites players to inhabit their own floating sky islands as homes. The game emphasizes sustainable living through activities like growing crops in hydroponic shelves, rescuing animals, and decorating customizable spaces. Adventures with other players focus on puzzles and platforming challenges rather than combat encounters.

The MMO incorporates community-driven gameplay through shared projects that players can join together. According to Michael Su, co-founder and studio director of Qloud Games, the team wanted to create "a relaxing online world we could escape to with our friends—a third space with a welcoming community, things to do, and a home we could keep on coming back to."

The game's narrative centers on an impending world-ending event that manifests as literal cracks forming across the sky islands. Players will need to work together to solve the crisis and save their communities.

Customization extends across avatars, pets, homes, and islands themselves, allowing players to personalize nearly every aspect of their experience. Loftia has been in development for four years and was previously crowdfunded. The game will be available on Steam at early access launch.
