GDQuest Releases Major Update for Learn GDScript From Zero Course
GDQuest has updated its free and open-source Learn GDScript From Zero course by rewriting the app in Godot 4 and improving performance, feedback, and language support.
The free and open-source learning resource Learn GDScript From Zero, created by GDQuest, has received a major software update. According to details shared on GitHub and covered by 80 Level, the creators completely rewrote the application using Godot 4. This new version aims to deliver more stable performance and a polished learning experience for users.
Alongside the engine upgrade, the developers enhanced existing lessons and practical exercises by incorporating community feedback gathered from platforms like Reddit and Discord. The updated app also features essential bug fixes, gives users improved feedback regarding code practices, and expands language support. Beginners wanting to learn programming through Godot's GDScript language can access the course either as a desktop application or directly through a web browser on GDQuest's course platform and the engine's official documentation page.
Additionally, the broader Godot learning ecosystem continues to expand with other community projects. Technical Artist Christophe Marois released a free interactive guide to tweens, while EvilBunnyMan introduced TweenFX, a collection consisting of 48 tween animations. Other recent educational resources include a 50-hour tutorial package from GodotGameLab, a 14-item tutorial bundle from GameDev.tv, and specialized development lessons by Emil J and The GameDev Tavern.
