Player conquers Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Kuttenberg with 43-strong army mod

Using the Companion Squad mod, one player assembled a warband and stormed the heavily fortified city of Kuttenberg, bypassing the game's intended quest chain in a chaotic 20-minute takeover that left the save unplayable.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 tasks Henry with removing Sigismund of Luxembourg from Bohemia's economic stronghold of Kuttenberg through conspiracy, heists, and sabotage. But one player decided to skip the intrigue entirely and siege the city with raw military force.

Using the "Companion Squad" mod from Steam user Triget, the player spawned a warband starting with 30 mercenaries. The mod's hero roster feature allowed them to call in every ally from the campaign: Hans Capon, Jan Zizka's crew, Godwin, Erik, Istvan Toth, Radzig, and Hanush. The final count reached 43 fighters standing at Kuttenberg's gates.

The assault began awkwardly. A guard at the entrance took issue with the player's unsheathed sword, but the warband, set to "defend" mode, only engaged during active combat. After switching to offensive settings, the army spread through the city in what the player termed a "murder clump."

The takeover spiraled quickly. Accidentally set to "Bandit mode," the warband attacked indiscriminately: guards, nobles, innkeepers, silver miners, and musicians all fell in the onslaught. Soldiers got stuck in doorways and ignored retreat commands once they'd spread into smaller groups. The player lost seven soldiers, and both Hans Capon and Jan Zizka were killed in the chaos.

The city fell in less than 20 minutes. Sigismund fled without a fight. The player reached city hall, found it empty, and claimed the mayor's office.

Victory came at a cost. By eliminating countless NPCs, the player destroyed multiple quest lines and made every town in the region hostile. The save was effectively unplayable for the intended campaign. The player acknowledged the approach was faster than the main story but not recommended for anyone wanting to continue playing normally.
