Is How To Fish on Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch? Current Platforms Explained

How To Fish has emerged as one of the breakout indie hits on Steam, attracting a massive player base and conquering the PC space with ease. Featuring a simple premise centered around fishing alongside up to three friends, the multiplayer title has quickly generated plenty of questions regarding whether it will make the jump to home consoles. For now, however, players hoping to experience the chaotic multiplayer action on living room hardware will have to wait.

Currently, How To Fish does not have a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 port, meaning the game has completely evaded Sony's ecosystem so far. Similarly, Xbox console owners also miss out on the fun, as the game is unavailable on Xbox Series X|S systems. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners also cannot cast a line, as the title is completely absent from Nintendo platforms as well.

Despite the current lack of console availability, there is hope on the horizon for players waiting on a port. According to information shared in the official How To Fish Discord FAQ, console ports could eventually happen if everything goes smoothly with the PC Steam launch. The developers noted that if things go well, they plan to port the game to PlayStation and Xbox, with a potential Nintendo Switch version also being a possibility, while mobile or VR versions remain unlikely. Given that the indie hit managed to hit one million players within its first two days, early signs for future platform expansions are promising.
