In Death: Unchained Announces Fall Season 2026 and Roadmap Updates Following Difficult Period

Developer Superbright has announced that In Death: Unchained will receive a major content refresh later this month. The fantasy roguelike's long-running current season is scheduled to conclude on September 29, with Fall Season 2026 launching on the exact same day. Moving forward, the development team has committed to rolling out season changes approximately every six months.

In a recent Discord update, Superbright CEO Wojtek addressed the community, detailing the studio's troubled history over the past two years. According to the message, the team faced multiple internal difficulties, compounded by the ongoing war in Ukraine—which affected team members—as well as widespread industry-wide struggles and layoffs. Operating now as a smaller team juggling multiple responsibilities, the studio chose to hold off on sharing concrete updates until they were certain they could follow through.

To acknowledge the extended length of the current season, Superbright is offering bonus Legend Points to all participants who played during this period, including anyone joining in from now until the season ends later this month. According to the studio, this bonus will be large enough for a player starting from zero Legend Points to successfully unlock a reward. Under the game's seasonal structure, leaderboards award Legend Points based on overall performance to rank up and unlock rewards. While the boards reset when a season changes, players retain their earned achievements.

Superbright is responsible specifically for the Meta Quest version of the game, titled In Death: Unchained. The original In Death release on SteamVR was developed by Sólfar Studios and has remained without updates for several years. Further details regarding the upcoming Fall Season 2026 are slated to be shared on the official social channels soon.
