Hong Kong City Times 2026 Launches for Microsoft Flight Simulation

Flight simulation developers shared new updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator, highlighted by SamScene3D launching the latest iteration of its Hong Kong scenery. Hong Kong City Times 2026 is now available for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020. This major release serves as a massive upgrade over the original version, bringing approximately 600 custom building models to the virtual skies.

The updated scenery package introduces around 300 additional models compared to past iterations while reworking more than 100 existing structures. Developers also upgraded texture quality across almost all models and enhanced thousands of autogen buildings using artificial intelligence assisted techniques. Additional landmarks now populate Hong Kong, accompanied by enhanced night lighting, visual effects, and broader city coverage. Performance optimizations include improved frame rates, expanded levels of detail implementation, and compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Users can also utilize a toggleable Kai Tak redevelopment area, a toggleable iniBuilds Hong Kong points of interest compatible option, and flexible compatibility with third-party Kai Tak Airport add-ons.

Hong Kong City Times 2026 is available through Orbx Direct and Contrail for approximately $21. Existing owners of the previous version can purchase an upgrade for $15.

In other flight simulation news, Aeroplane Heaven announced a work in progress rendition of the World War II fighter aircraft Bell P39 Airacobra for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Developers have not yet determined whether the aircraft will launch before or after the B-17, which previously encountered a development setback.
