Helldivers 2 Joins PlayStation Plus Game Catalog with Devoid of Liberty Update

Helldivers 2 has joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, making it accessible to PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe members. This addition comes alongside the Devoid of Liberty update, which expands the game with new content.

The Devoid of Liberty update focuses on the Void, a haunted abyss that players must venture into to liberate it back into Super Earth's control. High Command has ordered reconnaissance missions to gather intel, presenting a unique challenge for players.

New missions are available, including destroying Illuminate spires and gateways, completing data reconnaissance, and infiltrating Illuminate structures. Secondary objectives have also been added, such as eradicating Void mutations and extracting materials for research. Players can also open a secondary extraction zone on the map to evacuate their squad faster.

The update introduces new, hideously mutated organisms emerging from the heart of the Void. These include the Wretch, a nimble creature that can easily overwhelm weaker fighters, and the Crusher, which can take heavy damage and dish it out. Players must strategize to take down these new threats.

To aid in completing operations, SEAF platoons have been commissioned to fight alongside players. They arrive on dropships, offering medical support via stims and boosting morale through interactions like saluting, shaking hands, and hugging.

The Devoid of Liberty update also allows players to gain all 300 ranks of security access and privileges, along with new rank titles. This is an opportunity for players to strike back and avenge the citizens, SEAF, and Helldivers lost in the Battle for Super Earth.
