Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West have disappeared from the Steam store in the UK. The sudden removal appears to have taken publishers PlayStation by surprise. Players in the UK who already own copies of the affected games can still play them through their Steam libraries. However, their store listings have been replaced with a message stating that the items are currently unavailable in the region. This prevents anyone in the UK who does not already own the games from purchasing them or any unowned DLC.

A Sony spokesperson issued a statement regarding the situation. They stated that they are aware of an issue affecting the availability of select titles on Steam in the UK. The spokesperson added that they are working with Valve to address the issue and apologized for the inconvenience.

Data from SteamDB indicates that Great Britain, the Isle of Man, and the United Kingdom were added to the list of regions where Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West are barred from purchase. The changes took place on September 16th. The exact cause remains unclear, especially given Sony statements framing it as an issue. Prior controversies involving PlayStation published games on PC have often involved restrictions related to PlayStation Network account requirements, though the network operates fully within the UK.
