Hellcard 2, the sequel to the original Hellcard which received 'Very Positive' reviews on Steam, has released a new co-op demo available now on Steam.

The game is a co-op roguelite deckbuilder where players descend into dungeons and battle enemies and dragons made of paper. The paper aesthetic gives the deckbuilding mechanics a tactile feel, with promotional materials featuring designs reminiscent of popup books.

Players can tackle dungeons solo or online with friends. Solo players control multiple characters simultaneously to match the difficulty of group play. Multiplayer requires coordination to effectively use all available cards across the team.

A key mechanic is enemy placement. Monsters spawn either within melee or ranged distance, forcing players to decide which cards work best against each threat. Decks can focus entirely on melee, ranged, or blend both approaches.

For returning players, Hellcard 2 introduces gear that heroes can equip. Gear changes character appearance and modifies deck composition, stats, and buffs available during runs.

The demo is available to download on Steam now. Hellcard 2 is scheduled for release in 2027.
