Riot Games Teases HEARTSTEEL Riftbound Cards Ahead of Music-Themed Season

Riot Games has teased a new set of overnumbered cards for Riftbound, its League of Legends trading card game, themed around the HEARTSTEEL music group. The cards appeared briefly in the animated music video for HEARTSTEEL's new song "Live My Life," which features Anderson .Paak, BAEKHYUN, Connor Price, and Nic D. The virtual boy band returned after a two-year hiatus with the track.

The HEARTSTEEL Riftbound cards feature alternate art with signatures and overnumbered versions. Riot Games has aligned the new card set with League of Legends Season 3 Act 2 2026, which carries a music theme. The cards are expected to arrive as part of this year's League of Legends Worlds Riftbound bundle, according to leaks.

Riot is also bringing back other virtual music acts. K/DA, the League of Legends K-pop group, registered a new song called "Watch Me" with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Leakers claim True Damage will receive new skins and Riftbound cards as well, suggesting a broader music-focused expansion across the TCG.

New HEARTSTEEL skins are coming to League of Legends alongside the cards. According to data miner SkinSpotlights, six champions will receive HEARTSTEEL skins: Ezreal, Kayn, Sett, K'Sante, Aphelios, and Yone. These skins are expected to hit the Public Build Environment on Tuesday, September 22, with full release planned for Patch 26.20 on October 7. The set includes two prestige skin variants, one for the S3A2 Pass and another for the Classic Act 2 Pass.

Beyond the card game, Riftbound continues to expand its scope. A recent Riot Games job listing suggested the trading card game is being developed into a digital app version alongside its existing form.
