Hardcore Apocalyptic Shooter ‘Scavland’ Hits 175,000 Wishlists Days Before Launch

Scavland, a top-down pixel art hardcore apocalyptic shooter, has reached 175,000 wishlists on Steam ahead of its early access launch.

The upcoming top-down pixel art apocalyptic shooter Scavland has officially surpassed 175,000 wishlists on Steam just days ahead of its early access launch. The milestone was recently revealed by the development team via social media, highlighting the growing momentum behind the title as it approaches its upcoming release window.

Developed over the course of six years, Scavland draws distinct design inspiration from classic and hardcore titles such as Tibia, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro, and Escape from Tarkov. The project looks to stand out in a crowded post-apocalyptic genre through its unique combination of retro visual presentation, procedurally generated dungeons, and pixel art weapon customization mechanics.

Beyond its aesthetic and tactical features, the game has been explicitly structured for broad hardware accessibility. It is fully Steam Deck-ready and built with exceptionally lightweight minimum system requirements, needing only a 2.77GHz quad-core CPU, 4 GB of RAM, a 2 GB GPU, and 1 GB of storage space. This low resource footprint allows it to run smoothly across a wide variety of portable gaming devices and handhelds.

The title's visual design heavily relies on nostalgia, utilizing throwback sprite work, character assets, maps, and user interface elements that evoke memories of classic online role-playing titles like Tibia and Ultima Online. While official pricing details for the early access release have not yet been announced, anticipation continues to build among fans of extraction shooters and apocalyptic survival titles alike.

Scavland is scheduled to enter early access exclusively on PC via Steam on September 4.
