Windows Tray Utility Consolidates Wireless Device Battery Levels in One Place
A Reddit user has created Halo Battery, a free Windows utility that displays battery status for all connected 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth devices directly in the taskbar, eliminating the need for individual manufacturer apps.

A Windows tray utility called Halo Battery is gaining attention for consolidating battery charge status across multiple wireless devices in one convenient location. Created by Reddit user headvox with assistance from Anthropic's Claude AI model, the tool displays battery levels for 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth-connected devices directly on the taskbar without requiring separate manufacturer software.
According to headvox, Halo Battery "shows the charge status of your 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth devices in one place right on your taskbar. Each device gets its own tray icon: a ring that shows the battery level, with a device pictogram inside. The ring goes amber, then red when the battery is low, and slowly 'breathes' green while charging. Hover over an icon to see the exact percentage."
The utility has been tested with devices including the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2023), WLmouse Beast X Max, GameSir G7 Pro, 1MORE SonoFlow headphones, and the Logitech G502 X Plus. The project maintains a growing list of compatible devices on its GitHub page.
A key advantage is avoiding bloatware. Windows currently lacks this functionality, forcing users to install vendor-specific software to monitor device battery levels. For example, Razer's Synapse app carries an approximately 800 MB memory footprint, while similar tools from other manufacturers add comparable system overhead.
Headvox noted the limitation Windows currently has: "Windows shows battery for some Bluetooth devices, but only in Settings, not in the tray. Most 2.4 GHz dongle devices (like my Razer headset and WLmouse) don't report it to Windows at all; you need the vendor's app for that."
Community members have suggested additional features, including displaying exact battery percentages without hovering and custom per-device audio alerts. Headvox credits Claude AI with writing most of the code while handling design and testing responsibilities personally.
