GTA 6 Will Be Released On Time, Rockstar North Co-Lead Says

Rockstar North co-lead and head of development Rob Nelson has assured fans that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on schedule, addressing lingering concerns regarding potential schedule setbacks. In an interview with Famitsu, Nelson expressed hope that a recent extended look at the game—which premiered on Netflix—would put quality concerns to rest.

Prior to the extended footage, players had limited insight into gameplay, prompting worries about overall quality. Nelson noted that the team was pleased with the positive reception following the Netflix showcase, stating, "It was our hope that people wouldn't be worried about the quality. We're really pleased. Also, it will be released on time."

The title has previously experienced adjustments to its launch timeline, moving from an initial 2025 window to 2026, and subsequently shifting six months from May 26 to November 19. Despite these prior shifts, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has remained steadfast on the November target across multiple interviews, and Nelson's recent statements reinforce that the studio remains committed to keeping the schedule intact as anticipation builds for the release in Vice City.
