Twitch CEO claims GTA 6 multiplayer launching in 2027

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said in an interview with Bloomberg that Grand Theft Auto 6 multiplayer will launch in 2027, providing the first public timeline for the mode's release.

Rockstar Games has not officially announced details about GTA 6 multiplayer, the future of GTA Online, or the PC version release date. Clancy's statement appears unauthorised, as he is not a Rockstar representative.

"We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators," Clancy told Bloomberg. "You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer."

The comments suggest Rockstar is planning a significant content push for the multiplayer component following the single-player launch. GTA 6 is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in fall 2025, making a 2027 multiplayer launch roughly 18 months after the base game's debut.
