GTA 6 fans debate whether Key West made the final map

Grand Theft Auto fans have turned their attention to a persistent question about the GTA 6 map: will Key West appear in the game?

The speculation intensified following the release of a map leak that appears to show an early beta version of GTA 6's map. This leak differs from earlier CyberLeek posts from summer, which did not include Key West. The discrepancy has led fans to theorize that Rockstar may have planned Key West but removed it during development.

Key West, the USA's southernmost city located on the western tip of the Florida Keys, is a famous tourist destination. Its potential inclusion in GTA 6 seems like a natural fit for a game set in a fictionalized version of Florida.

Reddit user TheHulk305 expressed skepticism about its absence, writing: "I don't see why they'd work so hard doing all the keys and leave out the most important one Key West. It doesn't seem like a Rockstar thing to do, especially since we even got the Jersey side of New York in GTA 4."

Other players have suggested that Key West might have been merged with other parts of the Florida Keys rather than excluded entirely. However, all current theories rest on map leaks that may themselves be inaccurate.

It's worth noting that Grand Theft Auto games, while intensely researched and based on real-world locations, are not one-to-one recreations. A location's absence from leaked materials doesn't confirm it won't appear in the final game; it could be alluded to elsewhere or appear significantly smaller than its real-world counterpart.

Grand Theft Auto 6 releases in November. Beyond the Key West question, fans have also noted that GTA 6 Online has yet to be officially announced despite widespread anticipation.
