Early GTA 6 Map From 2022 Rockstar Hack Now Playable in GTA 5 Legacy
Modders have recreated an early version of Grand Theft Auto 6's map using leaked development files from Rockstar's 2022 security breach. The mod is available for GTA 5 Legacy, showing how the game looked during early development around 2014 and 2015.

An early version of Grand Theft Auto 6's map is now available as a mod for GTA 5 Legacy, built from development files that surfaced following Rockstar Games' 2022 hack.
The leaked archive contains old Rockstar development assets including an early iteration of GTA 6's map from approximately 2014 and 2015. Modders have used these files to reconstruct portions of the early map inside GTA 5, allowing players to explore how the game was being designed more than a decade ago.
The recreated map shows an early version of the location known as Leonida. Players should expect rough, unfinished areas throughout the build. Many locations may have been substantially changed or removed during the years of development between those early builds and GTA 6's current state.
The mod is specifically designed for GTA 5 Legacy and does not work with the Enhanced Edition. Modders have cautioned that Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive will likely issue takedown notices quickly, though alternative download links may circulate once the original sources are removed.
According to the mod creator's social media post, the early map integrates smoothly with existing HUD mods. Video documentation of the mod is limited, as Rockstar typically issues copyright strikes against YouTube uploads of leaked content.
The 2022 Rockstar hack exposed a significant volume of internal files from the company's systems. These materials have gradually surfaced online over time, with modders periodically extracting assets for use in community projects.
