GTA 6 Collector's Box Costs $400 and Doesn't Include the Game
Rockstar has unveiled The Goodtime State: Vice City Collection, a $400 merchandise box featuring 11 items inspired by an in-game TV show. The collection ships November 19 but requires a separate $80 purchase of the actual game.
Rockstar Games has officially announced The Goodtime State: Vice City Collection, a $400 merchandise box tied to Grand Theft Auto 6's November 19 launch. The collection does not include a copy of the game itself.
The collection is inspired by Leonida's in-game TV show, Macca the Gator. It contains 11 items: a six-inch Macca the Gator figure with a stash compartment, matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses, a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat with Vice City Leonida embellishments, a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Vice City swizzle spoon, a Vice City razor blade keychain, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Leonida Keys enamel pin set in a custom metal tin, premium stickers in a stash bag, and a double-sided souvenir poster showcasing the full Leonida landscape.
Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive are restricting the collection to one order per person and limiting availability to "while supplies last." Players who wish to actually play GTA 6 on launch day will need to spend an additional $80 minimum for a standard copy of the game.
Online reactions to the $400 price have been largely critical. However, observers note that standalone merchandise collections without the game have become increasingly common in the industry. Marathon, Diablo 4, and Borderlands 4 have all released similar bundles. Some have pointed out that selling merchandise separately allows Take-Two to avoid preorder cancellations.
The merchandise box has already drawn attention from resellers. When GTA 6 DualSense controllers were announced earlier, scalpers quickly purchased them and listed them on eBay at premium prices. eBay listings for The Goodtime State collection have already appeared, suggesting the same pattern may repeat.
GTA 6 has generated significant preorder momentum. According to third-party research, the game has already generated over $400 million in revenue from preorders alone. A recent report indicated that GTA 6 preorders are "heavily skewed" towards PlayStation 5.
The collection is available to preorder on Rockstar Games' website and is scheduled to ship on November 19, 2026, the same day GTA 6 launches.
