PC Gamer Reports on Player-Seeking Hit Squad Mod in GTA 5
A modder has added player-seeking hit squads to Grand Theft Auto 5, resulting in chaotic encounters with ground and air assassins amidst a heavily modded game world.
A recent feature from PC Gamer highlights the integration of a new mod into Grand Theft Auto 5, designed to bring consequences to the player's in-game actions. Inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2, the mod is titled Ambient Hit Squads. It periodically dispatches armed men to track down and eliminate the player while they explore the open world.
In a heavily modded version of the game, the arrival of these assassins creates unique gameplay scenarios. While ground-based hitmen can readily navigate the environment to pursue the player, airborne attackers face significant navigational challenges. Due to conflicts with other active modifications affecting physics and vehicle movement, helicopter-piloted hit squads struggle to orient themselves properly, resulting in erratic flight patterns.
The player utilizes alternative modifications and vehicle-mounted weaponry to deal with the ground threats while observing the humorous aerial chaos. The experience reflects the unpredictable nature of combining multiple user-created modifications within the open-world sandbox environment of GTA 5.
