Modder Keeps Crashing GTA 5 Alive With Fortnite Floss Dance
A PC Gamer writer documents their ongoing quest to mod Grand Theft Auto 5 into oblivion, most recently adding a Fortnite emote that makes Franklin unstoppable.
A PC Gamer writer is documenting their daily experiments modding Grand Theft Auto 5, pushing the game toward either a GTA 6-like transformation or complete collapse. The installation has already suffered critical damage: the game now only launches in windowed mode, and Franklin Clinton spawns in an empty void where his house should be, tumbling endlessly through the abyss. When loaded, Franklin screams.
The latest addition is the Fortnite Floss Dance mod, which adds the viral emote to GTA 5. The mod includes automatic music that plays whenever Franklin begins flossing, with volume control via slider. The mod's UI is entirely in Arabic, an unexpected but appealing detail.
The results are darkly comedic. Franklin now flosses constantly and relentlessly across the deteriorating Los Santos. Car crashes cannot stop him. His cycling bodyguards, which perpetually die and respawn, do not deter him. Nothing breaks his commitment to the dance.
The writer describes an "anxiety" to their modding approach, aware that each addition risks finally destroying the installation entirely. Despite the mounting chaos, GTA 5 persists, held together by whatever miracles modding tools provide.
