GTA 5 Flights V mod brings functional airports to Los Santos

A new GTA 5 mod transforms the game's airports into working travel hubs, letting players buy tickets and fly between distant locations. The feature replicates the full airport experience, though infinite loading screens can occur during boarding.

A new mod called Flights V has added functional air travel to GTA 5, turning the game's airports into actual departure points rather than static locations.

The mod lets players approach a ticket desk, purchase a flight, and travel as a passenger between four destinations: LSIA, Sandy Shores Airfield, McKenzie Airfield, and Paleto Bay International Airport. The implementation includes authentic airport details like jet bridges and departure lounges populated with NPCs.

Traversing Los Santos on foot, bike, or car takes considerable time, especially when reaching the northern edges of the map. Flights V eliminates that friction by enabling fast travel through air routes.

The mod recreates the airport experience with notable accuracy, including the option to select different aircraft types before boarding. However, players report occasional infinite loading screens when attempting to board planes, which the mod's developer acknowledges as an ongoing issue unrelated to other map modifications.

Flights V is part of the broader modding ecosystem that continues to extend GTA 5's gameplay years after its release, with creators regularly introducing new features and mechanics to the open world.
