GTA 4 RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod Version 1.4.2 Released

Modder xoxor4d has released version 1.4.2 of the RTX Remix Path Tracing mod for Grand Theft Auto 4, featuring a new LOD map option and runtime updates.

Modder xoxor4d has officially released version 1.4.2 of the RTX Remix Path Tracing mod for Grand Theft Auto 4. Players looking forward to the update should temper their expectations, as it is classified as a small release that does not heavily introduce new PBR materials, pack high-resolution textures, or overhaul 3D models.

Instead, the version 1.4.2 update introduces a specific option to always draw the lowest LOD map sections for the entire map, which is disabled by default. Enabling this feature comes with a substantial performance hit. Additionally, the patch fixes an issue where the sun or moon could get stuck during gameplay. It also updates the remix runtime to incorporate the latest changes, resolving issues that previously occurred when utilizing DLSS Frame Generation with settings over 2X.

Official release notes for the Grand Theft Auto 4 RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod Version 1.4.2 further detail the changes made by the modder. These additions include a new marker #100 placed in the Dukes area near a basketball field where a few meshes are attached to the remix base mod, alongside a fix for an issue concerning the override tooltip located on CompSettings accessed via the F4 menu. Fans of path-traced older titles can utilize the latest version to experience the open-world game with enhanced lighting features.
