Gravhounds Reveal Trailer Sends Good Boys Into A Sci-Fi Battle
Indie developer Octopus Panic revealed Gravhounds during Gamescom Opening Night Live, showcasing an action-builder game where genetically engineered dogs colonize an alien world.
During Gamescom Opening Night Live, indie developer Octopus Panic made a splash by revealing its new action-builder game, Gravhounds. The reveal trailer showcases a future where interstellar exploration and colonization are left entirely to man's best friend. While the trailer notes that the titular Gravhounds were bred for this life, their humanoid appearance points to extensive genetic engineering. There is no sign of human life on the hostile alien world, yet the Gravhounds themselves appear strikingly human.
Gameplay supports one to four players as they gather resources to build a new colony while holding onto the hope of eventually returning home. Upgrades are vital for survival, helping players fight off aggressive alien forces. According to the game's Steam page, the early-access period will last at least six months and include the core experience before expanding in breadth, depth, and replayability on the road to version 1.0. Both solo and co-op campaigns will be playable during the initial release.
Gravhounds is scheduled to launch into early access on Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 2. Furthermore, the game will be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass for subscribers.
