Gothic 1 Remake Nears Full Cost Recovery After Strong Debut Week
Embracer Group reports that Gothic 1 Remake is approaching its break-even point after selling over 500,000 copies in its first week.

Gothic 1 Remake is close to recouping its entire development and marketing costs following a successful commercial launch. According to a recent financial report from parent company Embracer Group, the title stands as a strong box office success for developer Alkimia Interactive and publisher THQ Nordic. The game is expected to become fully profitable soon.
Embracer Group did not disclose the specific budget or current revenue figures for the remake. However, the company confirmed that the game sold more than 500,000 copies during its debut week alone. Data from the analytical service Gamalityc indicates that the Steam version has already generated $21.5 million in gross revenue before accounting for store commissions and taxes. Because this figure excludes console sales on other platforms, the actual overall revenue total is higher, though exact figures remain unverified.
Gothic 1 Remake launched on June 5, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title continues to track toward full profitability as sales persist across all available platforms.
