Gorr: The God Butcher Joins Marvel Rivals Season 10 on September 11

Marvel Rivals Season 10 is scheduled to launch on September 11, 2026, bringing the Thor villain Gorr: The God Butcher to the game as a playable Duelist. The update is slated to go live at 9:00 AM UTC. According to early promotional material and trailers, Gorr's appearance diverges somewhat from his live-action counterpart in Thor: Love and Thunder, but he plays a prominent role in the cinematic trailers where he faces off against characters like Thor and Loki.

As the 54th playable hero joining the roster, Gorr's gameplay design encourages hitting into combat, dealing with weaker foes, and retreating before focused enemy fire can pin him down. Trailers have also shown his health bar reaching up to 500 hit points. His signature weapon, the All-Black Necrosword, is reported to shift between two combat forms—one focused on close-range melee slashing and another for mid-range projectile attacks. NetEase has indicated that Gorr will be the sole character arriving in the first half of Season 10, with no additional character slated for the second half of the season.

The arrival of Gorr wraps up a mystery that was built up over the course of Season 9. While developer NetEase has not yet released a comprehensive, official ability breakdown for the character, preview footage and developer insights suggest his kit involves summoning minions to the battlefield to deal damage alongside his own weapon-based attacks.
