Golf+ has introduced a mixed reality feature called Immersive Putting that lets players use their own real-world golf club and ball instead of a controller. Using the headset passthrough cameras, room-mapping, and mixed reality, the game maps a virtual green directly onto physical surroundings. It then calculates the swing, speed, and trajectory of the shot, carrying the real-world action onto a virtual green complete with simulated contours, breaks, grain, and speed. The feature provides feedback on each stroke, covering start line, pace, results, and proximity to the hole, along with trends to help players identify patterns and improve their form over time.

The feature comes with notable caveats and specific hardware requirements. Immersive Putting is currently only available on Meta Quest 3 and 3S because the experience relies on those headsets' passthrough cameras and depth-sensing capabilities. The older Quest 2 does not support the update. Additionally, players need a real-world putter and ball, a few feet of clean and clear space, and a reasonably well-lit room.

Furthermore, the feature is not available to every Golf+ player automatically. Immersive Putting is restricted to Golf+ Pass subscribers. The subscription service costs $49.99 for the first year and $99.99 every year after, unlocking full access to the course library, tournaments, and events. The base game is available on Quest for $29.99 with three original courses, and can also be accessed through Meta Horizon+. A Steam release is also upcoming.
