Godot Engine has released two maintenance updates addressing platform compatibility and stability across its active version lines.

Godot 3.6.3 arrives as a recommended update for all 3.6.x users, primarily driven by changes in mobile platform requirements. Google Play now requires new apps and updates to target Android 16 (API level 36). To support this, Godot has updated its Android APIs and made compatibility changes so developers can update their Godot 3 games on the Play Store with version 3.6.3.

On iOS, the minimum version requirement has been bumped to 15.0, the minimum supported by Xcode 27. The update adds a minimum target export option and removes 32-bit export, which has not been supported since iOS 11.

The 3.6.3 release includes 20 fixes from 16 contributors, with improvements to audio handling, rendering optimization, and platform-specific stability. Notable fixes address audio crackling issues from incorrect WASAPI buffer size, physics interpolation compatibility with separate-thread rendering, and a speech-dispatcher deadlock on Linux.

Godot 4.7.2 follows with 57 fixes from 39 contributors. The update resolves issues across 3D tools, the asset library, core systems, and input handling. Significant changes include fixes for multiplayer replication when deleting nodes with MultiplayerSpawner, shadow rendering accuracy with PCSS, and mouse input performance on high-polling-rate devices on Windows. The release also updates mbedTLS to always use Godot's OS as an entropy source.

Both releases are considered safe for upgrade from their respective previous maintenance versions. Godot recommends backing up projects or using version control before updating. No known incompatibilities with previous releases have been reported for either version.
