GeForce Now to add official support for the Steam Controller and Steam Machine

Nvidia has announced upcoming feature expansions for its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now. Starting later this year, the platform will officially support Valve's Steam Controller and Steam Machine hardware. Players utilizing the GeForce Now app on a Steam Deck or Steam Machine will be able to use the gamepad directly. For users accessing the service on Windows or macOS operating systems, support for the Steam Controller is scheduled to arrive at a later date, according to Nvidia.

Alongside the hardware integration, GeForce Now is receiving several additional platform upgrades. Nvidia plans to introduce new DLSS 4.5 controls covering DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction, with Ray Reconstruction also launching in early access for RTX graphics processing units. Furthermore, the previously announced GOG single sign-on feature is now available to users, and subscription purchases will become accessible through Amazon as the service expands to additional Amazon Fire TV Stick devices later this year. Compatibility with the Firefox browser was also officially rolled out to users.

In addition to platform-wide updates, Nvidia's announcements highlighted forthcoming developments for the RTX Spark chip family, which is slated for a fall release with planned game support from developers and publishers including EA, Embark, and Ubisoft across titles such as EA Sports F1 25, Apex Legends, Arc Raiders, and Anno 117: Pax Romana. Other updates discussed include native support development for Javelin Anticheat technology, a path tracing update for 007 First Light arriving in September, and technical upgrades for RTX Remix.
