Gears of War: E-Day Achievement List Features Smash Mouth Reference and Tough Challenges

Following a Steam leak that revealed upcoming achievement lists, Microsoft has officially released the complete list of Achievements for Gears of War: E-Day. Among the mix of campaign milestones and multiplayer goals is a pop-culture reference to Smash Mouth and Shrek.

Players can unlock an achievement titled "HEY NOW, YOU’RE AN ALL STAR..." by accumulating 25,000 kills in the Versus multiplayer mode, rewarding them with 25 Gamerscore. The iconic lyric nods to the 2001 film Shrek, which famously featured the Smash Mouth song "All Star." The release of Gears of War: E-Day coincides with a year that marks the 25th anniversaries of both the Xbox brand and Shrek.

The full list details a wide assortment of campaign and Horde Siege tasks. Among the most rigorous trials is an achievement called "Dead Serious," which requires players to 100% complete the campaign on the highest difficulty level (Insane), reach 25,000 kills in Versus, achieve max player level, and max out four classes. Successfully completing these monumental feats grants 85 Gamerscore, standing as the single largest achievement reward in the game.

Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled to release on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with early access opening on October 1 for players who purchase higher tiers. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
