Gears of War: E-Day requires ray tracing GPU and 115 GB SSD space
The Coalition has published system requirements for Gears of War: E-Day ahead of its October 6 launch, mandating a ray tracing-capable graphics card to play and 115 GB of free SSD storage.

The Coalition has released system requirements for Gears of War: E-Day, the upcoming prequel launching October 6. The specifications reveal demanding GPU requirements, with a blanket mandate that all players use a ray tracing-capable graphics card.
The minimum GPU requirement is an RTX 2060 or RX 6600, stepping up to an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT for recommended performance. For 4K Ultra settings at 60 fps, an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 7900 XT is required, paired with 12 GB of VRAM. The Coalition states explicitly in the requirements table: "A hardware ray tracing capable graphics card is required. Graphics cards without dedicated hardware ray tracing support are not support."
The game features ray-traced reflections, shadows, and global illumination. It will support DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3.0 at launch for upscaling options on lower-end hardware.
CPU demands range from a Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel i7 6850K at minimum to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or i7 14700K for 4K Ultra performance. RAM sits at 12 GB minimum and 16 GB for higher settings. Storage is fixed at 115 GB on an SSD across all tiers; a solid state drive is required, not optional.
