Gears of War: E-Day is preparing for its global launch with a significant patch focused on stability and performance. The Xbox exclusive, which has been available in early access, is now being polished for a wider audience, including its upcoming release on Game Pass.

The update addresses a range of issues across the game. Online and multiplayer services received fixes for Versus Social matches stuck on the "Waiting for players" screen, improved Xbox authentication handling, and better online session stability. The "Bilefrog-Kalona" error, which could sign out split-screen players after suspending and resuming, has also been resolved.

Campaign players will find fixes in several acts and chapters. Act 2 Chapter 2 had issues with objectives failing to update in Allfather's Plaza and a Heavy Gear appearing without a Vulcan. Act 4 Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 received fixes for side objectives not starting and Power Station defense objectives failing to complete. Siege Blitz Secure objectives and extraction helicopters in Downtown West Blitz missions have also been corrected.

Additional improvements include adjustments to the Demolition mode, where bombs could become stuck in a defusing state. The user interface has been refined, with changes to Online Diagnostic text size and appearance, and a fix preventing the UI from repeatedly claiming the same Challenge Mail reward.

The patch also addresses War Journal progress and Forge rewards issues for players joining campaigns in progress. While the game has maintained a Metascore of 87 and broken Steam player records during early access, this update aims to ensure a smoother experience for all players when it launches globally.
