The Coalition's prequel has completed development. Pre-loading opens September 29 at 8 AM PST for Game Pass members, with early access on October 1 for Premium Edition buyers and a standard launch on October 6.
The Coalition has announced that Gears of War: E-Day has gone gold, signalling the completion of development for the prequel shooter. Pre-loading will begin September 29 at 8 AM PST through Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, or direct purchase.
Players can access the game early by purchasing the Premium Edition, which grants access October 1 at 8 AM PST. Standard launch arrives October 6 at 8 AM PST for all other players on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Studio head Mike Crump thanked fans in an Xbox Wire post, stating: "Your passion for Gears has inspired us every step of the way and reminds us why this franchise continues to mean so much to so many. Thank you to everyone who has played, watched, and shared feedback throughout the journey so far."
The Coalition also released the Achievements list, which avoids narrative spoilers through vague titles. Achievements cover standard milestones like completing all Acts and secondary objectives across difficulty levels, with dedicated lists for Horde Siege and Versus modes. The notable endgame Achievement "Dead Serious" requires completing the Campaign on Insane difficulty, maxing character level, fully upgrading all four classes, and earning 25,000 Versus kills. The classic "Seriously?" Achievement does not return from previous Gears titles.
