Gears of War: E-Day Early Access Costs $99.99, Available Five Days Before Launch

Gears of War: E-Day will launch with early access available to players who purchase the Premium Edition of the game. Early access begins on October 1, five days ahead of the standard October 6 release date, allowing players to start the campaign or jump into multiplayer ahead of the full launch.

The Premium Edition is priced at $99.99, which is $30 more than the standard edition. In addition to early access, the Premium Edition includes seasonal customization packs and the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack.

Players with Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions have an alternative option. Rather than purchasing the full Premium Edition, they can buy the Premium Edition Upgrade for $30, which covers the difference between standard and premium pricing. This allows Game Pass subscribers to gain early access without paying the full $99.99 price.

The Coalition developed E-Day as a prequel to the existing Gears of War franchise, focusing on the emergence of the Locust. Early access availability aligns with Xbox's typical approach for first-party titles, many of which offer paid early access as a premium launch option.

No price reductions are expected before early access begins, according to available information. Players interested in early access will need to commit to either the Premium Edition purchase or the $30 Game Pass upgrade ahead of October 1.
