PC Gamer writer Fraser Brown has reflected on his early MMO experiences, highlighting Zarwulf, an Orc Hunter he created in World of Warcraft in 2004.

Brown notes that while Zarwulf wasn't technically his first MMO character, he has few clear memories of earlier experiences in Ultima Online from 1998. His recollection is sharper for his university years, when he played World of Warcraft alongside Star Wars Galaxies and Guild Wars.

The character remains in the game, preserved in its original state. Brown describes Zarwulf as carrying a large sword, a stern expression, and likely a pet wolf. Rather than return to play the character again, Brown prefers to leave that chapter of his gaming history undisturbed.

Interestingly, Brown has carried the Zarwulf name forward into Guild Wars 2, where he occasionally plays a Daredevil character bearing the same name, maintaining a connection to his early MMO identity across different games.
