Fortnite Integrates Roblox IP for the First Time with 99 Nights Crossover

Epic Games has introduced its first-ever Roblox-native intellectual property crossover in Fortnite, featuring the popular Roblox title 99 Nights in the Forest. Revealed on August 11 and launched on August 20 as part of Fortnite: Battle Royale Chapter 7 Season 4, the collaboration marks the first time an original creator-built character from Roblox has made the jump to Epic's shooter.

Developed by Grandma’s Favourite Games, 99 Nights in the Forest is a Roblox horror game where players must survive a haunted forest, gathering resources by day and defending against wolves, cultists, and a demonic Deer by night. Since debuting in 2025, the game has accumulated over 28.9 billion lifetime visits and reached a peak of 14.2 million concurrent players. The IP has grown so quickly that 20th Century Studios acquired theatrical film rights to the game in April 2026.

The Fortnite crossover centers on the infamous Deer, which is being sold as a skin in the Item Shop rather than as part of the seasonal Battle Pass. It joins a roster of prominent characters introduced in the new season, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Kingdom Hearts, Persona 5, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Street Fighter. Epic Games has not yet detailed the full extent of the integration, with shop-based IP crossovers slated to roll out on a staggered schedule over the coming weeks.

The collaboration has drawn a highly divided reaction from the Fortnite community. While some players welcome the crossover as recognition of Roblox developers as legitimate creators, a vocal segment of the fanbase has criticized the choice. Online complaints have centered around the inclusion of a Roblox-native character alongside legacy gaming franchises, as well as broader concerns regarding Roblox's history of child-safety issues. Neither Epic Games nor Grandma’s Favourite Games have publicly commented on the community reaction.
