Fortnite's Ninth Anniversary Event Offers Five Free Rewards Through October 1

Fortnite is marking its ninth anniversary with a Birthday Event running from September 21 through October 1, when the celebration concludes ahead of Fortnitemares.

Epic Games is distributing five free rewards during the event. Three cosmetics come from completing Birthday Quests: two Back Blings and a Pickaxe. Players unlock these by finishing the special quest line that tallies rewards upon completion.

The remaining two rewards use different methods. Entering a specific Lobby Hack grants the 9th Birthday Sprite Spray, while mastering 28 Sprites this season awards the exclusive 9th Birthday Skin.

The Birthday Event runs alongside the buildup to Fortnitemares, Epic's annual Halloween event launching October 1, which the community regards as one of the best events on the calendar. Players interested in the anniversary rewards have until October 1 to complete the Birthday Quests and unlock all available cosmetics.
