FlyKnight Gets Free Enhanced Edition Update With New Difficulties and Weapons
The $6 indie RPG receives a substantial free update adding multiple difficulty modes, item and enemy randomization, four new weapon types, and performance improvements for Steam Deck.

FlyKnight, a $6 first-person RPG inspired by King's Field and Lunacid, has received a free Enhanced Edition update from its solo developer. The update adds multiple difficulty modes, including a Hard mode with exclusive poison swamp content, item and enemy randomization with savable procedural generation seeds, and four new weapon types alongside additions to existing weapon categories.
Performance improvements are included with enhancements "especially noticeable on Steam Deck." The update also features graphics, UI, and balance tweaks plus bugfixes.
FlyKnight combines the visual style of Old School Runescape with methodical combat centered on locational limb damage. The system rewards targeting weak spots and weapon-holding appendages, a mechanic particularly fitting for a game featuring anthropomorphic bugs. Combat emphasizes distance control, stagger opportunities, and perfect blocking over dodging and i-frames, drawing comparison to classic survival horror design.
The game is currently on sale for $4 through September 30, down from its standard $6 price. The Enhanced Edition update is free for existing owners and new players purchasing the game.
