Final Fantasy VII Revelation Release Date and Trailer Revealed at State of Play

Square Enix and Sony showcased a new release date trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation during the September 2026 State of Play, confirming an April 8, 2027 launch.

During the September 2026 State of Play showcase, Sony and Square Enix delivered a major update on Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third installment in the ongoing remake trilogy. The broadcast featured a brand-new release date trailer showcasing gameplay footage, story segments, and a closer look at what Cloud and his crew will experience in the final chapter.

The trailer confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled to launch on April 8, 2027. Gameplay footage highlighted combat against enemies, providing fans with a clearer look at the new job system in action. Additionally, the footage spotlighted characters who were less prominently featured in previous installments, such as Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind.

The title is slated for release across multiple platforms, including the Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Square Enix has also confirmed that prior entries in the series, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, are currently available on all four of those platforms. Recent months have brought several updates for the game, including a trailer and booth presence at Gamescom 2026, a PAX West 2026 presentation, and anticipated appearances at the 2026 Tokyo Game Show.
