Famitsu Review Scores Cover Viractal and Qliphah in Providence's Shadow

The newest Famitsu review roundup from October 4, 2026 evaluates two notable titles that have been generating discussion among gamers. Viractal stands out as a fantasy role-playing game that reimagines classic adventure design through a metafictional lens. Developed with procedural generation, the game features card deck building and a unique system where players control multiple characters simultaneously. Its structure revolves around a 25-turn limited adventure that culminates in a grand final confrontation against a massive boss. The combination of board-game-style management and roguelike card mechanics creates deep strategic layers, making each playthrough rewarding despite occasional repetition in pacing. Qliphah in Providence's Shadow presents a contrasting experience centered on fast-paced combat. This title delivers counter-based real-time command battles characterized by stylish visuals and dynamic skill builds. The interface divides control between two characters, enhancing cooperative play experiences. While the art direction resonates strongly with fans of the chuunibyou aesthetic, some critics note that the battle system occasionally relies on pattern-matching rather than genuine tactical depth. The narrative exploration leans toward story reading, which can feel monotonous compared to the intense combat sequences. Overall, both games receive positive attention from the Famitsu editorial team, though each excels in different design philosophies.
