Famitsu's Most Wanted Games Chart: Pokémon Winds and Waves Leads Nintendo Switch 2 Titles

Famitsu has released its latest most-wanted games chart based on reader votes cast between August 19 and August 25, 2026. The rankings reflect a consistent preference among Japanese gamers for Nintendo Switch 2 titles, with three of the top five positions occupied by games exclusive to the platform.

Pokémon Winds and Waves maintains its commanding lead at number one with 594 votes, cementing its position as the most anticipated game among Japanese voters. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave follows in second place with 472 votes, also on Nintendo Switch 2. The chart shows strong interest in Nintendo's platform, with Zelda: Ocarina of Time securing the fourth position with 419 votes.

PlayStation 5 titles secure representation in the top five, with Persona 6 holding third place at 440 votes and Persona 5 Revival in fifth with 403 votes. Beyond the top five, the chart includes Grand Theft Auto 6 at number six with 241 votes and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation at number seven with 239 votes, both on PS5. Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a recent PS5 release, debuts on the chart at number eight with 228 votes.

Nintendo Switch 2 continues to dominate the broader rankings, appearing in positions nine through fifteen and beyond, with titles including Xenoblade Genesis, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Final Fantasy Resonance, Derby Stallion 2, and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. The original Nintendo Switch also appears on the chart, with versions of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Final Fantasy Resonance, and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam receiving separate vote tallies.
