Everplay Group, the gaming holding company that owns publishers such as Team17, has announced its financial results for the first half of the year ending June 30. Despite a quieter six months with no major new releases, the company reported that its upcoming first-person shooter titles, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and Wardogs, are already performing well ahead of initial expectations.

Mikkel Weider, group CEO of Everplay, confirmed the momentum in a statement accompanying the financial results. Weider shared that the company's major new releases, including Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and Wardogs, are breaking many sales and player number records. Thanks to this strong performance, Everplay now expects its fiscal year 2026 results to be materially ahead of current market expectations.

Alongside these performance milestones, Everplay announced that it has exercised an option to increase its shareholding in Super Media Group to 28 percent. Super Media Group is the owner of Bulkhead, the development studio behind the upcoming shooter Wardogs. Weider expressed enthusiasm for the expanded partnership, noting that Everplay has long admired the team and is thrilled to support them further in the first-person shooter genre.

Financially, Everplay reported group revenue of #66.9 million for the first half of the fiscal year, which represents an 8 percent decrease compared to the #72.4 million earned in the same period last year. Excluding the impact of Everplay's strategic exit from Astragon's low-margin physical distribution business, the revenue dip was 5 percent. The company attributed this decline to the strategic shifting of major fiscal year 2026 releases into the second half of the year.

Meanwhile, the company's back catalogue remained highly stable. Back catalogue revenues rose slightly to #64.3 million, up from #63.5 million in the prior year's first half. This portfolio performance was driven by contributions from more than 150 legacy games. Adjusted EBITDA for the period sat at #9.2 million, down from #19.2 million, reflecting the lower revenue and increased investments ahead of the major second-half release schedule.

Everplay increased its pipeline funding during this time, with capitalized development expenditure rising 14 percent to #16.4 million. This funding is distributed across 20 percent more titles than in the previous period, with roughly 65 percent of the development capital allocated to first-party intellectual property. At the close of the period, Everplay maintained #57.1 million in cash and cash equivalents.

Several operational milestones were also achieved across the company's subsidiaries. Team17 released four new games during the period: Lumentale: Memories of Trey, Sintopia, Wardrum, and Rogue Point. Its StoryToys division grew revenue by 43 percent, reaching 408,000 active subscribers and over 18 million total downloads across major updates for apps such as LEGO Bluey and LEGO DUPLO Disney. Astragon released two smaller titles, Ranger's Path: National Park Simulator into PC Early Access and Underground Garage, as it continues to refocus operations on its core IPs.

To support its future plans, Everplay hired Jon Rissik as Chief Growth Officer. Rissik, who previously served as the CEO of Dovetail Games, brings over 25 years of experience in gaming franchise and lifecycle management to the group.
