Euro Truck Simulator 2 to Add Volvo FH Series 6 100 Year Edition in Update 1.61

Developer SCS Software has announced that a special edition of the Volvo FH Series 6 truck will join the virtual fleet of Euro Truck Simulator 2. Designed to celebrate the Swedish manufacturer's upcoming centenary in 2027, the Volvo FH Series 6 100 Year Edition will arrive as part of the game's upcoming Update 1.61.

The anniversary additions will be tailored specifically for the Aero XL cabin version of the Volvo FH Series 6 truck. Players can look forward to custom cosmetic options, including two distinct paint schemes: the "100y Edition – Night" and the "100y Edition – Day" liveries. The update also introduces two light boxes for the truck, featuring either the 100y logo or the FH16 branding.

The interior of the truck receives several stylized upgrades. These include black leather door panels with unique stitching, new carpets, and a rear wall decoration displaying the 100 Year Edition logo. Drivers can customize their cabin further with a black leather steering wheel, two-tone seats featuring a black leather base and a grey textile upper section adorned with the 100y logo, and a decorative ambient dashboard LED light strip available in either red or blue.

In the real world, Volvo is offering anniversary configurations across its FH Aero, FH, FH16 Aero, and FH16 trucks. Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management at Volvo Trucks, stated that this special edition represents "the peak of Volvo’s truck design and manufacture over the past century" as a result of ongoing advancements in driver comfort, fuel efficiency, safety, and productivity.

While a specific release date for Update 1.61 has not yet been set, the Czech studio remains busy with multiple projects for the simulation title. SCS Software recently announced upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox console versions of Euro Truck Simulator 2, alongside several map expansion DLCs focusing on Iceland, Ireland, and Turkey. The team is also working on a UK map rework that includes the Inverness and Stonehenge areas, as well as a dedicated, bus-based "Coaches" mode which is nearing completion.
