Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator to Update Trucks with Improved Materials in Version 1.61

SCS Software has revealed interior visual updates for select trucks in American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 as part of the upcoming 1.61 update.

Developer SCS Software is continuing to enhance the visual fidelity of its popular driving titles, announcing that the upcoming version 1.61 update for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator will introduce improved cabin materials for select vehicles.

According to details shared on the developer's official blog, the visual enhancements will focus on the interiors of specific trucks. In American Truck Simulator, the International LT and International LoneStar are slated to receive the updated materials. Meanwhile, players of Euro Truck Simulator 2 will see similar cabin improvements implemented for the Volvo FH Series 6.

Beyond material upgrades, SCS Software has also polished several interior details. For the International LT and International LoneStar, the development team has completely redesigned the seats to more closely match their real-world counterparts. Additionally, a new "Diamond" interior option featuring premium leather seats will be introduced for both of these American trucks.

These cosmetic upgrades arrive alongside several larger projects currently in development across both simulators. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is expanding with upcoming DLCs for Iceland, Ireland, and Turkey, alongside a major rework of the United Kingdom map. SCS Software is also working on a Coaches DLC that introduces bus-driving gameplay, featuring licensed vehicles like the Scania Touring, the MAN Lion’s Coach, and the Volvo 9700 Double Decker.

On the other side of the Atlantic, American Truck Simulator players can look forward to upcoming map expansions in South Dakota, Indiana, and North Dakota, as well as a transition across the border into Canada with the British Columbia DLC. SCS Software is also preparing a "Road Trip" feature that includes car packs from Ford, Ram, and Dodge, allowing players to explore the map in cars and pickup trucks while delivering smaller packages.

Both simulators are currently available on PC, with console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in active development.
