Battlestate Games has confirmed that a comprehensive update to Escape from Tarkov's Lighthouse map is launching September 8. The patch represents the most substantial changes to the map since its release, directly addressing longstanding player frustrations.

The update restructures core map elements. The Water Treatment Plant's Rogues are being relocated to the fortified chalet area. Checkpoints have been added along the main road to provide cover from mountainous flanking positions. PMC spawn points have been adjusted with additional terrain and foliage to improve player spawn security.

Rogue behavior is changing significantly. Previously, Rogues discriminated between USEC and BEAR PMCs—now all players will be treated as hostile targets regardless of faction. The BTR armored vehicle has also gained access to Lighthouse, now patrolling the main road between the Water Treatment Plant and other map areas, offering players an additional traversal option.

New points of interest include a tunnel system running through the mountainside, described as bunker-like and intended to contain significant loot opportunities. These additions complement existing map features while providing fresh tactical choices for raids.

Battlestate Games stated the update aims to establish Lighthouse as a more appealing core map for players going forward, reducing the pain points that have made it less popular historically.
