Escape from Playtime open beta now live on Steam with a new horrifying antagonist
The multiplayer prequel to Poppy Playtime is available for testing this weekend. Players take on the role of cute plush toys trying to escape the factory while avoiding terrifying enemies, including the unsettling Miss Delight.

The Escape from Playtime open beta launched on Steam this week and is available to play through 6 pm PT on Sunday, October 4. The multiplayer prequel to Poppy Playtime lets players control cute plush toys like a bunny, cat, or unicorn as they navigate the Playtime Co. factory and attempt escape.
The core objective involves collecting supplies and filling a cart with useful items to advance through shifts. Complete all shifts and your character goes free. The challenge comes from hostile toys patrolling the factory, each requiring different strategies to overcome or avoid.
Toy robots speed toward players when detected and explode on contact, but can be disabled by teammates throwing objects at the back of their heads. A Cat Bee (a cat dressed like a bee) latches onto players and poisons them until another player knocks it away. These mechanics encourage teamwork and staying together.
The standout antagonist is Miss Delight, a towering monster whose presence is announced by the clicking of her high heels. Like Huggy Wuggy from the original game, she instantly kills players she catches. However, shining a flashlight in her face stops her cold. According to the source material, the psychological impact of Miss Delight standing motionless and staring creates a unique form of dread that exceeds the tension of being actively pursued, especially as flashlight batteries drain.
The open beta supports up to eight players, with groups of four recommended. Mob Entertainment emphasizes this is a playtest phase with work-in-progress aspects and experimental features. Players can provide feedback through a survey after playing. Full beta details are available on the Steam store page.
