Mob Entertainment has announced that Escape From Playtime will officially release on October 21, 2026, marking the next entry in the Poppy Playtime universe. The announcement came at the PC Gaming Show.
Escape From Playtime is a co-op survival horror game set deep inside the abandoned Playtime Co. factory. Players take on the roles of the Smiling Critters, the toy line first introduced in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 3, and explore classrooms, warehouses, testing labs, and corridors connecting them all. The game is set before the events of Chapter 1.
The game launches first into Steam Early Access and can be played solo or with up to four players. Each run sends teams into a dynamically changing section of the facility to find and transport resources for a mysterious voice. According to the announcement, "the materials are needed to help build a promised home for toys who prove their loyalty and usefulness."
Players must scavenge quickly, decide when to split up or stay together, and know when to retreat. The factory is filled with rejected Playtime Co. creations stalking the halls. An ominous voice in the shadows guides players while they work to complete the mysterious building project.
