Emberville, an upcoming pixel-art action RPG from Irish indie studio Cygnus Cross, has surpassed 600,000 wishlists ahead of its Early Access debut. The milestone reflects significant player interest in the game before its public release.

The game will participate in Steam Next Fest from October 19 to October 26, 2026, with a free public demo available throughout the event. Early Access begins on October 27, giving PC players only one day between the end of the festival and the full release. This compressed schedule allows players to try the demo and immediately transition to the early access build if interested.

Emberville combines action RPG combat with town-building mechanics. Players wake without memories inside the Vitromotus, a procedurally generated environment where they explore, fight creatures, gather resources and rescue survivors. Rescued townspeople and rebuilt structures unlock new systems and progression opportunities, creating a loop between exploration and town development.

The game features flexible character progression. Rather than locking players into a class at the start, Emberville allows classes to be unlocked by reaching milestones with different weapons and armour types. Once unlocked, classes can be switched freely, each with its own skill tree. Weapons also progress through use, unlocking weapon-specific skills and bonuses.

Cygnus Cross is building multiple progression paths beyond combat. Players can mine, fish, cut wood and gather herbs. Crafting disciplines include weaponsmithing, armorsmithing, alchemy, cooking, carpentry, jewelcrafting and tailoring. A personal creative area allows players to build homes, grow crops and decorate. The developer currently plans 16 weapon categories and 13 classes, though these figures may evolve during Early Access.

The Early Access build will support English at launch, with additional languages planned for future updates. The demo will offer a first hands-on look at the game's combat, character builds, exploration, loot and town building, though Cygnus Cross has not yet detailed the exact content available in the demo.
