Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered Demo Available Now on PS5, Xbox, Switch 2 and PC

Koei Tecmo has released a free demo for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The demo arrives one week before the full game launches on October 1, 2026. PS5 players do not need a PS Plus subscription to download it.

The demo covers a single stage based on the Battle of Hulao Gate, an early Three Kingdoms conflict that pits the Allied Forces against Dong Zhuo's army. Players can choose from six officers, two representing each of the Wei, Shu and Wu kingdoms: Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhenji, Zhou Yu and Sun Shangxiang. The stage culminates in a battle against Lu Bu and includes multiple difficulty settings.

Save progress from the demo does not carry over to the full game, and some demo content may differ from the final release. Koei Tecmo and Omega Force confirmed the demo during Tokyo Game Show 2026.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered combines the original 2001 Dynasty Warriors 3 and its Xtreme Legends expansion, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. The remaster preserves the core combat of the PS2 original while incorporating new mechanics from Dynasty Warriors Origins, including a reworked horse riding system, side step evasion and a timed parry block.

The full roster includes more than 40 officers. At launch, two players can play together through local split-screen. A free update adding online two-player co-op is planned for release by January 2027.

The game launches at $39.99 on October 1 across all four platforms. Pre-orders include Ziluan, the protagonist from Dynasty Warriors: Origins, as a bonus character. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available. The original Nintendo Switch version was cancelled in June 2026.
