The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess PC Port Dusklight Gets Major Update 2.0

Dusklight, the unofficial PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has released a significant update. Patch 2.0.0 introduces mod support alongside a built-in mod browser that lets players find, download, and update mods without leaving the game. Mods can be installed as .dusk files and include gameplay changes, texture packs, and asset replacements.

The update adds a new randomizer with extensive options. Players can shuffle items, dungeon entrances, boss rooms, and caves. Additional settings let you pick starting gear, skip parts of the game, and change the rules for reaching Hyrule Castle. A built-in cosmetics mod allows players to change Link's appearance, Wolf Link, Epona, Midna, and HUD colors.

Mod creators gain expanded tools to add new actors, stages, game modes, items, dialogue, sounds, menus, cameras, and more. The patch also adds Japanese GameCube disc support and support for more Wii discs, addressing a gap in compatibility.

Quality-of-life improvements are substantial. A new Save Manager lets players import, export, and back up saves while fixing several save and memory card issues. High-frame-rate play receives attention with smoother menus, effects, weather, and animations. The update adds faster scene changes, additional letterbox options, UI scaling, aiming reticles, and touch targeting.

Performance gains come from improved texture streaming and caching, while several graphics and Vulkan issues have been fixed. Audio received a major overhaul with support for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, 48 kHz audio, and a separate music volume setting. Several audio bugs were also resolved.
