Dungeons of Eternity Adds Extraction Mode and Lighting Overhaul
The co-op VR dungeon crawler introduces Tomb Extraction, a high-stakes game mode inspired by extraction shooters, alongside new weapons, enemies, and performance improvements across all platforms.

Dungeons of Eternity has received a major update introducing Tomb Extraction, a new extraction-style game mode that brings the risk-reward mechanics of games like Ghosts of Tabor to fantasy combat. During Dungeon Raids on red dungeons, players collect crypt runes that unlock tomb runs through a crypt dialing device in the outpost.
Five new weapons accompany the mode. The Crypt Keeper's Staff fires an explodable light orb for illumination in dark spaces. The Tomb Breaker Hammer breaks sealed tombs and damages armored enemies. The Gravelight Bow lights crystal switches and detonates on impact. The Necromancer Staff charms enemies into temporary allies. Skull Daggers serve as general-purpose melee weapons. A new Crypt Guard enemy type listens for player voices and magic, investigating sounds and alerting other enemies when triggered.
Developer Othergate overhauled the game's lighting and rendering systems. Dungeons of Eternity is now Steam Frame verified for the Steam Deck with finger tracking and rebindable SteamVR input. The update includes directional lightmaps similar to those used in Half-Life: Alyx, faster dungeon loading, real-time lighting on Quest, and graphics options across platforms. Experimental OpenXR support is available for PC VR. All players can now carry torches in dark areas, and damage numbers appear for enemies with a toggle option.
New equipment includes an equippable ring slot with over thirty rings offering unique perks. Two new weapon classes have been added: Auric weapons shake coins from defeated undead, while Spectral weapons echo damage after impact. The update also includes a networked playable lute in the outpost with sixteen chords.
Dungeons of Eternity is available on Steam and Meta Quest.
